Welcome to the forums for Guild Wars According to the Casual Gamer: A Fan Site. I am Vallary Quicksilver, your site administrator.
While I'm a huge proponent of free speech and democracy, and I'm not a fan of setting down rules, the very nature of a forum demands some structure. Communities that thrive establish self-policing guidelines. Be aware of your own actions and report serious violations you encounter to the Administrators. Some common sense and respect for others will keep this forum a pleasant place for all. Enjoy!
RULES
1. No Flaming. Discussion forums by their very nature are for discussion. While disagreements and disputes may arise, deal with them with maturity and respect. The Casual Gamer has no interest in arguments. No namecalling, childish rants, game bashing, and the like. Serious violations will result in swift and irrevocable banning.
2. Use English. Communication in this world is difficult enough without having to decipher coded language. Use plain English, spelled out. "u" does not equal "You." Similarly, using words like "gay" to discuss anything or opinions, or "rape" to discuss gaming is inappropriate. I will not provide a list if items that would be deemed inappropriate. Common sense will dictate that to you. Use appropriate language in fostering an enjoyable community of gamers.
3. No Illegal or Naughty Behavior. No pornography, no warez, no racism or discrimination of any kind, no obscenity, no illegal activities, no cheating, no hacks. If you can't do it or say it in front of your local law enforcement agency, it has no place here as well. Gash, Sever Artery, Final Thrust will be used swiftly for violations in this category.
4. No Spamming. Period.
5. No Advertising. If you must plug something, keep it discreetly within a sig.
6. No Bumping. If intelligent and thoughtful, your posts will be dealt with accordingly.
7. Keep sigs reasonable. Oh, sigs are fun, no doubt about it. But keep them simple and keep graphics small (less that 50kb).
8. Warnings. If there are offenses to the above, warnings may be handed out. There is no formula (3 strikes, you're out; 4th offense you're banned, etc.) for banning. Serious offenses will result in bannings - whether temporary or permanent - without warning. The Casual Gamer is not interested in pettiness and is under no obligation to extend use of this community to those who violate the rules. Consider yourself warned now.
9. Administrators and Moderators have the final word. Administrator decisions are not subject to appeal. We are benevolent dictators. There is no way we will be able to read every post. If you have a problem, see an inapprorpriate post, have a disagreement with management, please contact the administrator with a PM. The Casual Gamer is not interested in spending time on disputes. All problems and disputes will be addressed and resolved in private, and the decision, if one is necessary, including temporary or permanent banning, will be final.
10. Have fun.The Guild Wars community is filled with all different people and personalities. Have a great time getting to know the game and each other. We hope you enjoy your time at this board and in the game.
With all that said, we have a great opportunity here for an excellent community for The Casual Gamer. Respect yourselves, and others. And while I'm busy on this board, kill some Charr for me.
Who Is The Casual Gamer?
The Casual Gamer is a unique breed, in that she belongs to the largest group of gamers in the world. Yes, that's right: The Casual Gamer is the ultimate conforming non-conformist. We are the weekend warriors, the armchair quarterbacks, the couch potato announcers. We take our gaming seriously, but we also have lives. We have jobs, families, friends. We take care of kids, go on vacation, mow the lawn, walk the dogs, spend quality time with spouses and significant others.
We participated in the start of the electronic games revolution. We were there. We own (or owned) all the original handheld games (where are you Mattel when we need you now?). We know what Intellivision is, and we mastered pong long before today's hardcore gamers' parents were even of parenting age! And we continue to love games, both on- and off-line.
Because of our experience and vast wisdom, we have little tolerance for rule-breaking and time-wasting in forums such as this. We like to get in, get info, get back to the game, and complete our quests before the "honey-do" monster strikes. So, please, help make our community here at Guild Wars According to the Casual Gamer an enjoyable and positive experience.

And all you kids out there (shaking my cane at you), help us to become better gamers like you! You, our future leaders, are our heroes. (And when you finally get into power, we're not interested in social security and tax breaks - send us video game titles!) TEXTTEXTTEXT
